23 Georgian peacemakers go to Turkey for training
TBILISI, March 5 (Itar-Tass) - Twenty three servicemen of Georgia left for Turkey on Sunday. They will have a month-long training and go to Kosovo for joining a peacemaking platoon, sources at the Georgian Defense Ministry told Itar-Tass.
The Georgian peacemaking platoon with a strength of 34 was sent to Kosovo in September 1999 to be on duty as a part of the Turkish battalion. Twenty three peacemakers returned home from Kosovo on February 24, and eleven stayed in the territory in the course of a planned rotation.
