The FR of Yugoslavia demands from Pentagon to deliver its report to the Security Council

September 19, 2000

New York, September 19 (Tanjug) - The U.N. Security Council would have to receive American Army's report for inspection and discuss it, right now, about mistreatment and harassment, which American soldiers from KFOR troops are carrying out towards civilians in Kosovo and Metohija, it is stated in the FR of Yugoslavia's appeal that was delivered to the president of the Security Council.

According to the letter, which Vladislav Jovanovic, head of the Yugoslav mission to the FR of Yugoslavia, delivered to Ambassador of Mali, Moktar Uane, who presides over the Security Council, the Security Council would have to, on the basis of that report, without delay, discuss carrying out of mandate of the international military and civil mission in Kosovo and Metohija, take certain measures and bring responsible for mistreatment of civilians to the court.

The letter reminds that "New York Times" and "Washington Post" announced to publish American Army's report.

That was the reason of the FR of Yugoslavia to point to the Security Council into further aggravation of situation in Kosovo and Metohija.

Yugoslavia called the attention of the Security Council to dramatic situation in the southern Serbian province, many times, especially emphasizing systematically and deliberate violation of Resolution 1244 by KFOR and UNMIK, that are in collusion with terrorists from so-called KLA, in mistreatment of citizens of the southern Serbian province, especially non-Albanian population, it is stressed in the letter, which Yugoslav Ambassador delivered to the president of the Security Council.

Bearing in mind difficult situation in the province, and illegal actions of members of international forces, Yugoslav government believe that the Security Council should react immediately and discuss the report about mistreatment, which American soldiers are carrying out towards civilians in Kosovo and Metohija, it is stressed in the letter.
