June 11, 2000Serbs are endangered community
Jagodina, June 10th - Oliver Ivanovic, leader of Kosovska Mitrovica Serbs, said that in the past year KFOR and UNMIK, in the area of Kosovo-Metohija, did not accomplish a single important point of UN Security Council Resolution 1244.
"In this area there is no physical security of citizens, no legal security, no conditions for the return of Serbs, no economic development, no democracy. All of this was announced by representatives of the International Community", Ivanovic warned in his statement for Palma Plus, a television station from Jagodina.
He emphasized that on the contrary, Serbs are still killed in Kosovo-Metohija, and that in the last week alone 11 Serbs were killed, dozens of Serb houses burned and all that was "the result of organized action of Albanian terrorists, with the aim to banish the Serbs from central part of southern Serbian province".
"Therefore, it is logical that high International Community representatives, led by Bernard Kouchner, must retire from the territory because they did not manage to see the real state of affairs in the field which clearly shows that Serbs are the endangered community, not only by the Albanians but by KFOR and UNMIK as well", Ivanovic said.
