YU soccer coach names squad for Luxembourg qualifier

BELGRADE, Aug 27, 2000 -- (Reuters) New Yugoslavia coach Ilija Petkovic has named a 20-man squad for the opening World Cup group one qualifier against Luxembourg on September 3.

The squad is based on the team that beat Northern Ireland 2-1 in a friendly on August 16, Petkovic's first game in charge.

Defender Dragan Sarac is the only newcomer.

Goalkeepers: Zeljko Cicovic (Las Palmas), Dragoslav Jevric (Vitesse Arnhem), Aleksandar Kocic (Red Star Belgrade)

Defenders: Zoran Mirkovic (Fenerbahce), Nenad Sakic (Sampdoria), Ivan Dudic (Benfica), Goran Djorovic (Celta Vigo), Goran Bunjevcevic (Red Star Belgrade), Milan Obradovic (Obilic Belgrade), Dragan Sarac (Austria Vienna).

Midfielders: Dejan Stankovic (Lazio), Vladimir Jugovic (Inter Milan), Slavisa Jokanovic (Deportivo Coruna), Nikola Lazetic (Fenerbahce), Ljubinko Drulovic (Porto), Sasa Ilic (Partizan Belgrade), Predrag Djordjevic (Olympiakos Piraeus).

Strikers: Predrag Mijatovic (Fiorentina), Savo Milosevic (Real Zaragoza), Darko Kovacevic (Juventus).
