Two tremors rock Serbia, no damage reported

BELGRADE, Apr 28, 2000 -- (Reuters) Two earthquakes measuring 4.3 and 3.7 on the Richter scale rocked southwestern Serbia overnight but caused no damage, the official Tanjug news agency said on Thursday.

The tremors were centered in an area 170 km (110 miles) southwest of Belgrade near the towns of Prijepolje and Priboj, Tanjug quoted the Serbian Seismologic Office as saying.

The two quakes struck 40 minutes apart, with the second, stronger one occurring at 0:25 a.m.
