PRISTINA, Serbia, Feb 13, 2000 -- (Reuters) A U.S. soldier in Kosovo was shot in the leg while standing guard at a military base, the NATO-led KFOR peacekeeping force said on Saturday.
The soldier was guarding the U.S. forces' Camp Monteith base in the eastern town of Gnjilane on Friday when the shooting took place, KFOR said in a statement.
The soldier, who was not identified in the statement, was taken to a military hospital at Camp Bondsteel, the main base for U.S. forces in Kosovo, KFOR said. No one was immediately apprehended for the attack.
