Policeman injured in car bomb explosion in Bosnia

SARAJEVO, Jan 10, 2000 -- (AFP) A Bosnian Muslim policeman was slightly injured when a car bomb exploded late Sunday in the mainly Muslim town of Travnik in central Bosnia, police told AFP Monday.

The bomb exploded at 11:15 p.m., when the car's owner started the engine, ignoring a warning from police who had received anonymous calls shortly before the explosion, a police officer in Travnik said.

A policeman stood near the car suffered light shrapnel injuries to the arm and leg, while the car owner remained unhurt, he added.

It was the first incident involving Muslims in Travnik since the end of Bosnia's 1992-95 war.
