Balkan youth reconciliationFeb. 10, 2000
A series of Balkan Youth Reconciliation Seminars are being organized by the Friendship Ambassadors Foundation (FAF), and are to be held in Budapest, in January 2001.
The series of post-conflict seminars are targeted at young people who live in or are interested in a peaceful future for the Balkan Peninsula.
Out-going Finnish President, Martti Ahtisaari, said: "I commend the FAF’s efforts to work with young people in the Balkans to help them find possible means and ways to peace and reconciliation."
The Hungarian Culture Foundation has agreed to facilitate the meetings with FAF support, and the project is pegged at Ft10 million ($39,350), half of which the FAF has already raised or pledged.
