TIRANA - A new poll of a Tirana think-tank showed that 63 percent of Albanians with higher education prefer to emigrate.
The survey, conducted by the Centre for Economic and Social Studies, showed that the younger generation with college degrees, up to 45 years old, made the bulk of those who saw better chances of working in western countries.
Nearly 40 percent of those interviewed said they want to leave Albania for ever, 15 percent said they would return after a few years. Albania, among the poorest East European countries, is believed to have suffered a high degree of brain drain in the 90s.
