Russian, German defence ministers meet in Kosovo

BELGRADE, December 24 (Itar-Tass) -- Russian Defence Minister Igor Sergeyev met his German counterpart Rudolf Scharping in Kosovo on Friday and invited him to Moscow to discuss bilateral military co-operation.

In Pristina, Sergeyev declared Russia's intention to resume training of its officers in the Bundeswehr academy starting from February 2000.

The co-operation development programme also envisages reciprocal visits of military officials, joint exercises of airborne and other troops, conferences and exchanges of servicemen studying in higher educational establishments of the two countries.
