Russian defence minister to visit YU

MOSCOW, December 23 (Itar-Tass) - Russian Defence Minister Igor Sergeyev leaves for Yugoslavia for a two-day working visit on Thursday, Colonel General Leonid Ivashov, head of the international military cooperation department at the Russian Defence Ministry, told journalists.

According to Ivashov, "the purpose of the visit is to hold bilateral talks with Yugoslav leaders and with senior officials from the Yugoslav Defence Ministry, as well as to visit the Russian military contingent in Kosovo."

"During the trip Igor Sergeyev is expected to meet KFOR leaders and a minister from one of the NATO countries," Ivashov added.
