Russian general criticises operation in Kosovo

MOSCOW, December 3 (Itar-Tass) - Colonel General Leonid Ivashov, head of the Chief Department for Military Cooperation at the Russian Defence Ministry, told journalists on Friday that at present there was no reason to say that the peacekeeping operation in Kosovo was a success.

According to General Ivashov, the main provisions of Resolution No.1244 of the U.N. Security Council are not being fulfilled. "We hold NATO responsible for that, because NATO not only staged the aggression, but also took upon itself the responsibility for the fulfilment of the previous agreements, which are not being fulfilled now," he said.
